Killing in the Name of Profit - Diva Grabovica
During a recent tour with tourists from Italy, we made our usual stop in Diva Grabovica, as we always do.
I knew that gravel was being extracted from this location again at the beginning of the year and after that, Diva Grabovica was left in a more or less decent condition. But what I found today is a catastrophe, to say the least.
The beautiful willow trees that survived the heavy rains two years ago have been cut down. There is no more shade. A road has been dug along the entire beach and everything has been turned over and destroyed, including the beautiful sandy parts.
Diva Grabovica is no longer what it used to be and we are removing it from our offer until further notice, unless someone specifically wants to visit it.
The work is being done to repair the small dams that serve as sand collectors located above the main dams. This could have certainly been done in a much better way. I hope someone will be held accountable for the damage done to one of the most beautiful gems in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
It will take a few years without human intervention for nature to recover and for Diva Grabovica to at least partially return to its old look.
